I have to admit, I am loving Sean’s design. It lends to the side of readability, and makes it easy to find various types of content.

If it is too generic, a little bit of CSS goodness can spruce it up as time goes on. IMHO.

Sean, please release it. Good job!

I think the comments for Sean’s mockup pretty much tell the story for why I wouldn’t have chosen it. Things like “in fact itâ€™s probably one of the best wordpress themes Iâ€™ve ever seen.”.

It’s too generic, it looks like a WP theme. Something outta the box. It’s nice, would make a great theme for WP to ship with, but has no personality, IMO.

Sean's is very neat and clean but still I prefer Grant's. and not just because his first name is really cool. Something about Sean's design looks too much like every other site to me. drop shadows, columns, tabs, yawn. To be fair to Sean, I did just redesign one of my sites to have drop shadows and columns and tabs.

I couldn’t agree more with everyone else commenting on here – Sean’s is absolutely the best. Where are all your current ads and promotions going to go? They’ve simply been eliminated in Grant’s concept. And…to say there’s not much “design” in Sean’s is a pretty silly comment. I don’t know what you would consider “design” but it’s definitely got the most class, the best information layout and is the easiest to navigate and follow.

In any event, it’s your site.

Sean’s is clearly the most professional in the list, and as someone else said I was expecting the rest to reach that level, and they really didn’t.

The only personality Grant’s has is the hat really, which can easily be added to Sean’s, but it’s your choice :)

I’m sure Grant’s will look good too.

The reason I didn’t go for Sean’s is because there wasn’t much ‘design’ to it. It didn’t feel like there was any personality.

I think one of my favourite blog designs ever is Matt Mullenweg’s.

They are all good designs of course, but dude – what’s wrong with your eyes? – clearly the one by Sean is like 200% better than the rest. Clearly that one should be the winner – It’s classic, in fact it’s probably one of the best wordpress themes I’ve ever seen. I really hope that somehow becomes available.
