Aral Balkan at Future of Web Design London on “Emotional Design”

By @keirwhitaker

24 May 2010 | Category: Design

It’s been a busy ten days for those involved in Think Vitamin. A number of us were in Dublin for Future of Web Apps and then quickly decamped to London (via Bristol and Bath) for Future of Web Design. Two great events, tens of amazing speakers and an amazing amount of content and ideas.

Emotional Design Video

Here’s a taster of just one of the great talks from Future of Web Design London 2010.

In this video Aral Balkan talks about the “Art of Emotional Design”. It’s well worth 37 minutes of your time. I also managed to grab a quick interview with Aral which I will be publishing on this site very soon.

Future of Web Design Video Pass

If you didn’t manage to make it to Future of Web Design this year you don’t have to miss out. It’s still possible to buy the “FOWD Video Pass” for £95+VAT. This will give you access to every talk at the event from both days on both tracks. You can sign up on the web site.

This was the best talk of FOWD for me. Excellent talk that most people can take something away from.

    Love this guy!

This was definitely my favourite talk of the two days. Real thought provoking stuff and I agree with Laura about Aral’s passion.

Aral’s talk was a great balance of humour and tech talk, and left me inspired to rethink the way I approach projects at the design level.

Thanks for posting the video! :o)

I really like anyone who believes, like I do in that you shouldn’t look at development from the technical perspective.
    It isn’t about features.

Making this video private is the most disgusting action I’ve seen on the Web for a long time.

wtf private? Are we in 1990? FAIL.
