Hey there!
It’s Monday, so this roundup is devoted to all things web design (ux, photo, illustration, art, graphics, CSS, jQuery, tutorials, and more). Some links are newsworthy, some retweeted across Twitter, and others just meet our “awesomeness” requirement, and regardless we hope you’ll enjoy them. Without further delay:
- Data detectives, and anyone who loves making visual magic happen, will love this Ted Talk by David McCandeless on “The Beauty of Data Visualization.”
- I usually go to 456 Berea Street for interesting posts on accessibility and compliance in design, but Metropolis Magazine features an interesting post, which might inform your own interface work, on how two decades post ADA universal design is not so universal when “product” lags behind.
- The hardworking team over at Wufoo launches some really snazzy typography features for font and form lovers alike.
- A Chrome experiment, check out the interactive video made in HTML5 & then read up on how it was made.
- Erin Malone & Christian Crumlish share their deck, “Designing for Social Interfaces” from Adaptive Path’s UX Week over on SlideShare
Wildcard: This is just a silly site that makes great use of Helvetica and will make you laugh if you are a part of the wild west of the web app world – “There’s a startup for that” – and refresh often for more giggles: isthisforthat?
And, San Francisco-based startup Zendesk closes out the summer with style (after seeing the photo with the watermelons I couldn’t resist including it! Thanks Kelly Hoffer @kelly4strength). I will say Kelly’s note raise a great point, how did your company celebrate the final days of summer?
Please send me links to your projects, so we can help promote you and your work!
