By @keirwhitaker

23 March 2010 | Category: Design

Yesterday Think Vitamin hosted it's first online conference covering CSS3. Thanks to everyone who attended. We couldn't be happier with how it went. The feedback from the presenters and the attendees was great. Here's what some of them said on Twitter:

HTML5 Online Conference – April 12 2010

Our next online conference takes place on April 12th and is devoted to HTML5. It features four of the industries most knowledgable figures on HTML5 including:

Each presentation lasts for 1 hour and is interactive allowing you to asks questions in the online chat room. All presentations will also be made available after the event for you to re-watch and catch the bits you might have missed.

Full details can be found on on our online conference web site.

Either I don’t make enough money, or that seems a little bit steep for an online conference. I’d like to test it out or view a preview or something before investing one-fifty-smackers.

    Hey Bill

I understand your concern. However, based on the insanely good feedback we got from yesterday, everyone learned a ton and was really inspired. I had a lot of the attendees tell me they couldn’t wait for the HTML5 Online Conference.

    Hope you can join us!

    Hi Ryan,

Like Bill, I have to say that $150 is a bit much for an online conference. I’ve attended several in the past included O’Reilly’s fantastic Velocity event with Steve Souders and almost all of them have been completely free. Understandably smaller companies have their own costs to host events like this, but being someone that’s personally involved in setting these up for my own employer, I know that those costs aren’t too high. Do speakers really need to be paid so much for just an hour’s worth of work that $150 must be asked *per person*?.

I’d love to attend events like these but perhaps when the costs come down.

Thanks for all the hard work anyway!

    Hey Addy,

Thanks for the honest feedback – I appreciate.

All I can say is I’ve received at least 30 – 40 tweets or emails thanking me for how awesome the CSS3 conference was and how they’re super excited about the HTML5 conference. There was just one negative tweet out of over 600 tagged with #css3conf. That says to me that the conference is great value for money.

    All the best,
    Ryan

I hate that I missed the CSS3 conference. Have you guys thought about making the videos available to people who didn’t attend? The price is totally fair in my opinion, and would love to retro-attend it
