Hi Chris,

Just started using Postmark today to send email for UniversityTutor.com. Have to say - very impressed so far. You guys have built a very clean and easy to use product. The interface is way better than SendGrid. Still waiting to see how/if the deliverability changes, but so far looks awesome.

Keep up the great work!

I guess you are right that sending emails through web apps can't give us assurance that they are sent successfully. So we really need an email marketing services provider who can analyze the performance of our email marketing campaign. Though what is important is to get a reputable one who can do the job well.

Thanks,
Angelic

Thanks for this excellent white paper. I love how you started off with "the hard way/the easy way" at the top so that when I got overwhelmed looking at the hard way I could skip down to the easy way. I was also thrilled to see that your prices are so low. I definitely plan to use your service for my and my client's applications going forward.

This is something we struggled with when launching the beta of codesnipp.it After several hours, we had no one using the site even though we had almost 300 beta signups, turns out only the first 100 emails went out and the rest were junked!

We just had a massive amount of trouble trying to work out why customers weren't getting there ("thanks for buying") emails.

Only to certain email providers though, at first we thought we had been blacklisted etc. But in the end it turns out we had forgot to setup the Reverse DNS silly error but stumped us for a while :P

I would love to use a service like postmarkapp.com or postageapp.com for my charity-app stayscout.de. But unfortunatelly there are data privacy issues that are unsolved, as far as I know.
Who know more about what to look at from a data privacy point of view?
We are a german based webapp with an picked our servers to be in germany so no data is stored under us-right. AFAIK I would have to change my privacy policy once I start using an external and us-based service because I give it email-addresses and other private data, right?

I hope someone has some insight :-)
Thanks

We have been running postmark since launch and I would never dream about sending emails by myself again.

Email won't go away - it will evolve

Yes, tomorrow, so hurry up and send some emails! :)

For our products we use our blog, twitter, app announcements and some other things to communicate with our customers. The truth is, nothing is more powerful than a newsletter when it comes to response (at least for us).

This article is more about transactional email though (notifications, etc). I can't imagine what we would do without email notifications in web apps.
