Sam Nurmi is the founder and CEO of Pingdom, a service that monitors the uptime and response time of websites and servers connected to the internet.

Sam founded the Swedish web hosting company Loopia in 1999, where he acted as CEO until he sold the company in 2005. At that time Loopia was the largest web hosting company in Sweden and had 30 percent of the Swedish domain market. Sam is also the founder of the software development company Troxo, which focuses on web-related software.

Since selling Loopia, Sam’s main goal has been to develop and grow Pingdom into a leading uptime monitoring company.
