Tom is a generalist at heart. By day, he writes front-end code for a large scientific publisher. By night, he's known to dabble in all manner of hackery, writes the odd article, and thinks rather too hard about various matters to do with technology, media and the web.
He has given talks at conferences including the O'Reilly Emerging Technology Conference and at Reboot 8. He is currently writing at least one soon-to-be-launched project in Ruby on Rails, and has many more ideas in the back of his head he'll never have time to build.
