Ryan designed websites freelance with an eye for usability and simplicity before joining 37signals in 2003. Within his first year, the company began work on Basecamp and transitioned from a design consultancy to a product company. Ryan's innovative interface designs have since set a standard for web application usability and style. He lives in Chicago with his wife and french bulldog.
