Think Vitamin Radio: Episode #11

By @keirwhitaker

25 August 2010 | Category: Uncategorized

In episode #11 of Think Vitamin Radio Mike manages to pick a “Tweet of the week”, we discuss a recent post by Jackson Palmer on Think Vitamin and round out the show with a chat about some of the challenges of redesigning Think Vitamin with HTML5 and media queries.

There’s also a quick chat about Ryan’s work out regime, Mike’s love of Twitter and to my shame I do my “best” impression of Rocky.

This episode is a little longer at 40 minutes, we hope you enjoy it.

Loved Episode 1 and just going back through the others over the next few weeks.
Any chance of a transcript for all of the episodes?

I loved the discussion about continuous improvement to a website. This is the exact business model that I have used. For smaller clients, I actually lease the website to them. I usually start with at least a 2 year contract. I charge roughly half of the design/development cost up front. I then charge monthly which covers revisions as well as hosting costs. Basically, I’m selling the client blocks of time. If there is no time used for a particular month, the hours are rolled over for the length of the contract. With these leased sites, I own the domain so there is never a problem with the getting stiffed for the ongoing contract fees. I’ve never had to take a site down because of not being paid.

My clients love it because the are able to spread the design/development costs over a longer period of time. I prefer this model because of the reoccurring income and the ability to build long term relationships.

Hey Michael, Most of the shows have transcripts, the rest are in the pipeline as we speak.
