Here’s a quick summary:
- Draw your idea on paper. Get it out of your head and share it with friends.
- Luck. Assess when the time, and the market, is right for your idea and move ahead. For Twitter this was the emergence of cross network SMS, for Square (Jack’s latest project) it was the global financial crisis.
- Constantly iterate your idea. Become a critical editor of your work and make changes in line with user feedback.
What if your idea doesn’t work? Jack argues that it is equally important to know when to stop. If your idea isn’t working recognise this, keep it on file for future projects and move on.
