Want to redesign Carsonified?

By

15 March 2007 | Category: Uncategorized

Calling all designers!

I’d like to spice up Carsonified and get it re-designed. If you’d be kind enough to help us out by designing it and building the WordPress template, we’ll give you a free workshop seat at FOWD, a free day-pass to FOWD and an entire set of Survival Kits.

Just shoot me an email at ryan at [ourcompanyname] dot com.

Great Idea Carson. That is an easy way to get things done. And a cheap one.

Carson, why — in this miniboom of ours — would someone want to spend their valuable time redesigning a site using the uh, you know, barter system?!

Jeez, maybe what Greg Storey says about you is true …

    What’s that?

Hey I’d like to give it a go. Please contact me when you have the chance.

@ Ryan: From a link on Airbag in reference to this post.

“When you pay peanuts, you get monkeys.”
    Eek, eek.

what’s so bad about monkeys? some monkeys offer fine work and some are also very funny ;)

Why don’t you just pay someone to do it?

Give him a break! If Ryan wants to give someone the opportunity to redesign carsonified in exchange for some free passes for FOWD then why shouldn’t he!?

The designer may even get a mention on this blog, which i’m sure will be good marketing for them!

I’d go for it! But i doubt Ryan wants a developer-inspired design! ;)

Billy, no matter what you say or anyone else, it doesn’t matter. Ryan gets full points for doing what he enjoys doing and venturing out there. In the words of Mc Hammer – “Can’t touch this!”

[...] Ryan Carson, an acquaintance and friend-of-several-friends here in Bath, runs a load of Web 2.0 forward-thinking tech-type workshops. He’s done very well. I salute him. Rather cheekily (I think), he’s inviting his Web-savvy readers to redesign his blog in exchange for freebie seats at his workshops and (his italics) an entire set of survival kits. Good idea! So if there are any sex-savvy readers out there who’d like to redesign Sextoysinsider in exchange for a sheload of sex toys, please leave a comment. TA! [...]

    Would this offer include airfare?

Why all the childish bickering? The guy’s an entrepreneur who wants his blog redesigned. Thats how you the most bang for your buck: be different & creative in how you get things done. Btw guys, he’s not getting his business sites redesigned through the barter system. This is his personal (and simple) blog.

If it works, great. If it doesn’t great. There’s something to learn either way…

While i agree with No Spec i also think that the exposure generated would be a fair trade. FOWA tickets ain’t bad either :)
Plus he is not asking for a load of free designs from which to choose one but for a single designer to work with on producing the right design.
I would consider it myself except i really like the simplicity and brightness of the current design and don’t want it changed :)

  • http://www.madwebskills.com Michael McCorry

Yeah, I read it as “I’m looking for someONE to redesign my blog, and I’d like to pay with goodies rather than dollars” rather “submit your designs, we’ll pick the best one and give you a cookie for your troubles”. I’m guessing Ryan will pick a designer from whoever is interested based on their credentials (like any other process).

Plus, I’m with Alan. I kinda like the current design as is. :)
